AutonomSOW II research project successfully completed
Information platform makes inland waterway transport easier to plan
Over approximately 36 months, six partners from industry, associations and research developed and tested a digital information platform designed to make waterway transport processes easier to plan. The platform derives important information from waterway, traffic and transport process data to integrate inland vessels efficiently into multimodal transport processes. It automatically makes this information available to the participants through various media. The research project received approximately €1.5 million in funding from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport through the mFUND innovation initiative.
On 29 November 2023, the project consortium presented its results at the sixth meeting of the BinSmart accompanying research group. The consortium comprised Alberding GmbH (consortium lead), Berliner Hafen- und Lagerhausgesellschaft mbH (BEHALA), Bundesverband Öffentlicher Binnenhäfen e. V. (BÖB), the Chair of Design and Operation of Maritime Systems at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), the Institute of Communications and Navigation at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and LUTRA GmbH (Port of Königs Wusterhausen).
